OASIS Spa and Lounge owner Tamarra Hay and cancer survivor Sandra Epping partnered to host a hugely successful Nails and Cocktails fundraiser in support of the Weekend to End Breast Cancer. Forty women at the sold-out event were treated to luxurious manicures followed by gourmet appetizers and cocktails.

Dundas native Lieutenant Doug Russell on patrol in Kandahar City, Afghanistan. Lt. Russell is among a group of 300 Canadian soldiers that make up Canada's Provincial Reconstruction Team based at Camp Nathan Smith. He deployed to Afghanistan in February and is due to return to Canada sometime in the fall. A graduate of Parkside High School, Lt. Russell studied history at the Royal Military College of Canada.
