Cruisin' on Canada Day
Ten-year-old Jason Bahry spent Canada Day evening at Cruise Night, hosted by the Ancaster Optimist Club. Every Tuesday evening during the summer, the Optimists host the event at the Canadian Tire Parking lot on Wilson St. W. On Canada Day 87 classic cars were on display. The weekly Cruise Night also includes classic oldies music, door prizes, a 50/50 draw and hot food with proceeds supporting the Optimist Club. The Ancaster Optimist Club, now in its 52nd year, supports mostly youth-oriented community initiatives such as Brownies, Girl Guides, minor soccer, baseball, hockey and special awards. Membership is open to everyone.
