
To help prepare and educate individuals for retirement, Forever Young, Canada's largest 50-plus publication, is hosting Retirement 101, a speaker series taking place at the Hamilton Spectator Auditorium, Saturday, March 15.
The symposium will focus on retirement lifestyle topics to inform and educate those who are in or approaching retirement.
Retirement 101 runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with seven speakers presenting workshops on retirement-related topics, including finance, housing, health and travel.
Retirement 101 Feature Speakers
Keynote speaker: Hamilton's own Dr. Elaine Dembe, one of Canada's outstanding authorities on longevity, stress management and motivation.
A celebrated chiropractor, sought-after speaker, media personality, marathon runner, and author of best selling books, Passionate Longevity - 10 Secrets to Growing Younger and Use the Good Dishes: Finding Joy in Every Day Life. Dr. Dembe has helped thousands of people, including Paula Abdul, Phil Collins, Celine Dion and Toronto Blue Jays.
Healthy Aging: Garry Lapenskie presents You Are Too Young to Retire Your Body. As an instructor in the school of kinesiology in the faculty of health sciences at the University of Western Ontario, Mr. Lapenskie focuses on age-related body changes, acceptance of what cannot be changed and strategies for making changes.
