Tickets are selling fast for next Thursday's A Passionate Journey Tribute in honour of former Ancaster Councillor Murray Ferguson.
As of Tuesday, 885 of the 1,000 tickets available were sold for the fundraising event.
Proceeds will support renaming a stretch of walking trail Murray Ferguson Way, on property owned by the Hamilton Conservation Authority.
As of March 18, 37 guest speakers were slated to make a presentation at the event. Dignitaries range from past and present politicians of all three government levels, community leaders, business executives and longtime friends.
Current Ancaster Councillor Lloyd Ferguson, Murray's brother, said the family is grateful for the community's support. Lloyd was elected to succeed Murray as councillor, after Murray suffered a stroke in 2005.
Although organizers anticipate a sell-out, ticket inquiries can be made by calling Roger at 905-648-4866. The event has been organized by the Rotary Club of Ancaster AM.
