Hamilton Conservation Authority invites the public to attend an open house to provide input into the Borer's, Logie's and Sydenham Creeks Stewardship Action Plans.
The HCA wants to work with the community to develop comprehensive action plans that restore and protect the health of these streams and their ecosystems. The documents will provide detailed guidance on how to mitigate identified stresses to work toward improving water quality and quantity, ecological linkages -- terrestrial and aquatic -- and overall watershed stewardship within the three subwatersheds.
The action plans are the second of a five-year plan development process for the subwatersheds of the Spencer Creek watershed. They will identify subwatershed-wide and site-specific stresses, measurable targets for outreach, restoration and special study opportunities, and will engage partner agencies who can work together to mitigate the stresses within the study area.
The open house runs Tuesday, March 25, 6:30-8:30 p.m, Rock Chapel United Church, 451 Rock Chapel Rd., Dundas.
