
Horticultural Society's Trillium award judging underway until July 20

Don't be alarmed if you think someone is admiring your garden. You're probably right. Judges for the Ancaster Trillium Awards is underway. Awards judging runs from July 5-20. Here's a few gardening hints for the next few months for those who love to garden, courtesy Master Gardeners of Ontario Inc. and the Ancaster Horticultural Society.
Fertilize roses, annuals and vegetables. Pinch back and stake straggly annuals. Mow, hoe, weed and water as required. Finish pruning spring flowering shrubs. Remove old raspberry canes and trim back strawberry plants after fruiting. Transplant flowering cabbage and kale. Turn compost.
