That bumpy ride from Dundas to Ancaster will soon be getting a lot smoother.
Jeff Rowen, city project manager, said workers are currently ahead of schedule on the $4.76 million road reconstruction project on Main Street West and Wilson Street, from Osler Drive to Lower Lions Club Road.
The project includes a full road and sidewalk reconstruction, sewer replacement and water distribution system replacement.
Mr. Rowen said crews are currently ahead of the August 10 completion date. With co-operation from Mother Nature, work should continue at a steady pace.
"We're one or two weeks ahead," he said. "There's more good weather ahead, so we just hope it continues."
Mr. Rowen hopes to schedule two solid days of paving next week, which could cause some delays for motorists.
By early next month, everything should be back to normal.
"The bike lanes will be back and everything should be re-instated just as it was," Mr. Rowen said.
