Ms. Mercey is a high-vibrational healer. Also known as spiritual healing, high vibrational healing aims to increase the body’s positive energy vibrations, helping the brain create cells that rejuvenate the body and reduce pain.
Less than a year ago, Ms. Mercey had a successful career in real estate. She was listed among the top three per cent of sales in Canada, while healing people in her spare time. Ms. Mercey always had an uncanny ability to sense the underlying motivations of buyers and sellers. Then she began to hear angel voices. Gradually, her awareness grew and she learned to channel her abilities into healing others. She gave up real estate to focus on healing people, full time.
While only a select few are believed to have Ms. Mercey’s healing powers – she’s listed among the world’s best – Ms. Mercey also believes the average person can access the benefits of vibrational healing. Healing can often come through a repeated, positive action when people do things they enjoy, like walking, knitting or cooking.
Ms. Mercey offers an inside look into her career in her new book: Deeper Souls, Less Shoes: An Owner’s Manual for the Soul. The book examines the power of high vibrational healing and the people who have benefitted from Ms. Mercey’s extraordinary abilities.
“The book is kept light, funny and entertaining,” Ms. Mercey explained. “A blonde Forrest Gump laugh out loud character with too many shoes bumps into people throughout her life to awaken to her true soul’s life destiny.”
While she admits her own family and friends were skeptical of her career change, today Ms. Mercey has no regrets.
“It felt good and I knew it was right,” she said.
On a recent trip to Beverley Hills, CA, Ms. Mercey was questioned by U. S. customs agents who had a hard time understanding exactly what she does for a living. Ms. Mercey has made frequent trips to Southern California offering her healing abilities to open-minded Hollywood stars.
She’s been called “the most powerful healer I know” by Karyn Reece, a psychic medium who has appeared on Lifetime Channel, TLC and Discovery Channel. Ms. Mercey has no formal medical education or training.
Unlike faith healing, high vibrational healing is not affiliated with any organized religion.
“Some people can be trained,” Ms. Mercey said. “I was born with the energy. I can train other healers.”
Ms. Mercey is part of a growing international community of healers. The National Federation of Spiritual Healers, based in Great Britain, is the world’s leading authority on spiritual healing. The NFSH is a registered charity with over 5,000 members. The charity runs more than 50 healing centres, staffed by volunteers.
In Canada, the Association of Spiritual Healers of Alberta is this country’s top authority. Jane Fleming, ASHA president, said the organization is currently considering Ms. Mercey as an associate member. ASHA is the only organization in Canada authorized by the NFSH to train spiritual healers. ASHA offers an eight-week training program followed by a one-year probationary period. Graduates are also required to gather client testimonials before becoming certified healers.
“It’s a good practical process and a good examination process,” Ms. Fleming said.
After completing the program, graduates can open their own private practice or become a volunteer healer. Spiritual healing should not be used as an alternative to conventional medicine, especially for a serious medical condition, Ms. Fleming points out.
“It complements conventional medicine and we stress that,” she said.
At the age of five, Ms. Mercey recalls having chronic migraine headaches. Looking back, she now believes the vibrational energy passing through her caused these intense sensations.
“It took me 35 years to find out what this was.”
During her 20-year career in real estate, Ms. Mercey always had an intuitive ability to read people. She has also been able to sense people who are physically or emotionally distressed.
“I’ve always wanted to help people,” Ms. Mercey said.
When she realized she had the ability to perform high vibrational healing, she started treating some of her real
estate clients. Soon she received dozens of calls for healing. At the same time, calls for her realtor services began to decline.
A Brantford woman called Ms. Mercey asking for help to sell her home. Ms. Mercey obliged, even though she hadn’t worked in the Brantford area for several years. She sold the house in three days, for $15,000 more than the asking price. But her job didn’t end there.
“I read the situation. I knew she was sick,” Ms. Mercey explained. The woman was suffering chronic pain from a pre-existing medical condition. Doctors couldn’t administer medication quickly enough to calm her pain.
But when she spoke to Ms. Mercey over the phone, her pain subsided.
“I could send her energy from a distance,” Ms. Mercey explained. “Instantly within minutes, the pain went away.”
Ms. Mercey’s book includes a testimonial from Roy Krauskopf, a Selkirk resident. By reading the energy in Mr. Krauskopf’s body, Ms. Mercey discovered the warning signs of a stroke.
“I saw a blood clot in his arm,” Ms. Mercey said. “I see the energy blockages before the symptoms happen.”
Mr. Krauskopf credits Ms. Mercey’s impromptu advice for saving his life. He sought medical attention and narrowly avoided a stroke.
“I teach people why they get sick,” Ms. Mercey explained. “I’m just a conduit. Energy comes through me. I shift it into whatever that person needs.”
Ms. Mercey usually consults with clients over the phone and can treat people without even being in the same city.
“You just need that person’s approval on a conscious level to provide healing,” she explained.
Former Canadian Olympic rower Linda Schaunleffel is also one of Ms. Mercey’s biggest admirers.
Ms. Schaunleffel calls Deeper Souls, Less Shoes, “a fascinating and breezy narrative.”
“At first I felt like a voyeur, but soon I realized this book was all about me, too!” Ms. Schaunleffel states in her testimonial. “Your tale gives me permission to fully embrace the many odd occurrences that fall into my life daily and to expect that these occurrences or clues, will fit together to create a picture, MY LIFE, larger, more fulfilling and powerful than I can currently imagine. After reading your book I am filled with confidence to look, and guess what…it’s there. Thank you, sister!”
Ms. Mercey also lists former Toronto Maple Leaf centre Peter Zezel and rocker Kim Mitchell among her growing list of fans.
Deeper Souls, Less Shoes is available this month from Chapters book stores, amazon.com and in an e-book version from lulu.com .
