
Ancaster resident joins board of international organization

Shirley McCoy of Ancaster will serve a two-year term on the international board of directors for Soroptimist, a volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.
As a board member, Ms. McCoy will participate in strategic planning and program development for the organization. She will also help Soroptimist meet the goals of its Renaissance Campaign, a plan launched in 2004 to strengthen the organization's brand.
Ms. McCoy is a member of Soroptimist International of Dundas/Ancaster/ Flamborough, one of 3,100 Soroptimist clubs.
She is the managing director of Lucky Day Nursery and Village Treehouse Childcare. In addition to her Soroptimist activities, she is a member of the Association for Early Childhood Educators of Ontario and Child Care Advocacy and Affiliated Services for Children and Youth.
