Sir William Osler students participate in a trust activity ...
The garage sale is the culmination of OSFEST, a leadership camp for Sir William Osler’s Grade 7 students which took place on Oct. 21. Students in Highland’s leadership program hosted the second annual leadership camp for the 100 Grade 7 students.
The camp was split up into two main sections. In the morning, Osler students attended four seminars. Topics included trust, motivation and group dynamics, communication, and organization and time management. After lunch, Highland and Osler students formed 23 groups and began to organize a giant charity garage sale.
The goals of the project are to develop the leadership skills of the Grade 7 students, familiarize the students with Highland, help in the community and reinforce Highland’s environmental initiatives by recycling.
Each Highland/SWO team will have its own table with a particular theme, such as children’s items, books, entertainment items, sports, etc. The sale runs from 8 -11:30 a. m.
