Vandals wreaked an estimated $100,000 in damage after playing bumper cars with two vehicles at a city works yard on the weekend.
Sergeant Terri Collings of the Hamilton police said the culprits broke into the compound, located by the old Upper Ottawa Street dump, and damaged the ignitions of seven vehicles. They managed to start two and "decided to use them as bumper cars, smashing into other vehicles that were parked in the yard," she said.
"They drove through a fence and abandoned them in an adjacent city property."
Fourteen vehicle windows were also shattered.
