Let's support our own soccer heroes

I think that Mark Cripps was correct about Canadians failing to support our national soccer team.
When Canada did play in the finals in the '80s, I and my fellow Brits watched their games at a bar in Brampton as I was still working then and the games took place at lunch time.
Canadians present couldn't be bothered to lift their noses out of their beer to watch their country's players try to match the might of the big soccer nations and all the vocal support came from the European ex-pats.
As for the Euros I enjoyed the games immensely as no British team made the finals and I could be completely neutral although I hoped the Italians would win for my son-in-law's sake.
