Since June 1, including tournament play, the team has compiled a record of 30 wins, six losses and a tie.
Great goalkeeping was the backbone of the team. Hayden Guitard and Andrew Holmes shared the load and provided outstanding and acrobatic play. The tandem recorded numerous shutouts and allowed only 12 goals in 18 league games.
The Titan defence played relentless soccer and proved to be the toughest defence in the league. They attacked all ball carriers with ferocious tenacity and spirit.
Special thanks go to Logan Guitard, Jacob DiSante, Ben Ilott, Matt Oliver, Edward Tamale and Michael Lachowskyj for playing shut down defence.
Midfielders controlled games and provided outstanding and imaginative support all over the field. They showed incredible athleticism and skill while providing great defensive support and daring offensive opportunism. Congratulations to Jake Brown, Michael Cicero, Austin Dudzic, Nick Matsos and Drew Amorim.
Titan strikers combined blazing speed, physical toughness and great skill while helping the team score 75 times in 18 league games.
They played with creative spirit and provided numerous highlight reel goals. Special thanks to Eddie Hutchinson, Michael Fortino, Daniel Perfetto and Connor Murphy for a great season.
The team competed in the championship final in the Barrie Spiritfest and Ancaster Heritage Days tournament and lost in semi-final shootouts in the Cambridge Heritage Days tournament and Kitchener International tournament.
One of the many season highlights was a shootout semifinal loss in Kitchener. A total of 24 shots were taken to decide the winning team in what was one of the longest and most gruelling shootouts ever witnessed in tournament play.
Thank you to all of the parents for the dedication they have shown all year. The team also thanks sponsors, Peter’s No Frills Grocery Store and Maximum Machine Shop.
