
The Peewee Lions celebrate their berth in the league champi...
Finishing the regular season with an undefeated record of 7-0-1 and first place in the Peewee division, the team defeated the Peewee Bombers 18-0 in semi-final action .
The Peewee Lions are now set to face rivals West Mountain Riders in the HMFA Peewee Championship this Sunday at Ivor Wynne Stadium.
The Peewee Riders downed the Peewee Eskimos 42-26 in the other semi-final game. The two teams have never faced each other in the championship. The Lions last won the Peewee Championship in 1996 and the Peewee Riders have never won it before.
"‘It would be nice to bring the trophy back to our park this year," said head coach Mike Rand.
The two football clubs met only once this season and the outcome was an 8-8 tie. The Peewee Lions will play Nov. 9 at 2 p. m. in the HMFA championship.
