Twenty Hamilton-area elementary schools will participate in the Bishop Tonnos Breast Cancer Memorial Hockey Tournament, Nov. 18 and 20.
This year all proceeds will benefit cancer support services at the Juravinski Cancer Centre.
Bishop Tonnos hockey coach Dino Cavarzan said all teams will have a chance to play for a division championship. But the tournament’s ultimate goal is to create a day of fun for participants.
“It’s all just for the enjoyment of the game,” said Cavarazan.
The tournament is organized by the Bishop Tonnos Focus hockey course.
Players are guaranteed six games over two days. Teams are divided between Tier 1 and Tier 2 divisions. Local schools represented include St. Joachim and St. Ann (Ancaster).
A second tournament is planned for next March. For registration information contact Dino Cavarzan at Bishop Tonnos Catholic Secondary School, 905-648-4989.
